Michelle sent me a picture of her fiance, who's in Afighanistan right now with the troops. Byron meets Mr. Stephen Harper in Afighanistan. Hey Byron, you're looking good! Please stay safe!!!
GREEN & WHITE GALA

Dan and I attended an Irish themed Gala (I know, I'm totally not dressed Irish)for a fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Research. one of the producers at Dan's work bought $2000 worth of tickets (ONE INDIVIDUAL ticket= $250!!!), but of course all the money goes to a good cause! I had a great time, and was excited it's I love black tie events! How often does one get to dress up!?

Ok, so this is actually a bridesmaid dress for my wedding - my mom bought one for herself b/c it looked really good on her, then she decided to give it to me, b/c she thought it looked amazing on me (awww, mom's the best!) The awesome part is that before I started my "fitness meal plan", I couldn't fit into this dress!

Dan's co-worker, Jordan, and his lovely, bubbly personality girlfriend, Jody. Doesn't she look like Reese Witherspoon!? Well, she especially does from a profile view, but she wouldn't let me take a picture of her profile (she hates her chin)! Whatever Jody! ;o)

Our table- Dan's co-workers and their significant others

Irish dancers - Riverdancing!

Jody's "5 year old" NONDIGITAL gigantic camera (she's so cute, she's so proud of it!)

Mmmmmmm dessert! Coffee flavoured creme brulee in a Whiskey Snap cup! Berries on side. Mmmmmmmm!

Definitely a new fave picture of us

Look for us in the Edmonton Sun newspaper this Sunday (probably under Spotlight section). :o)
Weekend Getaway to Fairmont

Last Friday, we had a mini get away to Sean's parents' beautiful cabin out in Fairmont (i.e., GOOD PARTY SPOT!) It was a MUCH needed getaway for me! It was like old times, we had a lot of fun - acting like kids, letting loose and relaxing. The gang went snowboarding on the mountains, but D and I stayed behind, since he had hurt his ankle a few weeks back, and can't do much twisting on it. So instead, we went for hour long runs outside and to hot springs. Check out the pix:

Friday: Meeting up with the crew going to Sean's parent's cabin in Fairmont, BC. Here we are at Sean's parent's place (Edmonton) just before leaving the city. Lon opened the van's trunk, and because the driveway's slanted, all the luggage came tumbling out! HAHA.

Ok, seriously...haven't even made it out of Edmonton, and I've already slipped and fell (on Sean's parent's driveway).

Dan and I went for a run around Fairmont during the day, then headed to the hot springs after wards!

Let the Saturday night party begin...Lon dared to use the tongs as a substitute for his right hand for an hour - he last for about 5 minutes!

Dare of the night: Guess what Sean's about to do with peanut butter?! EWwww that's right, lick it off from between his toes! It was my idea too!

Allysa and her googly jello eyes!

Sean...needs a bib!

Fu

So as some of you may know, Dan's nick name for me is Fu. It came about as a mock joke, since Jennifer Lopez once upon a time called herself J.Lo, Dan started calling me R.Fu and eventually it became FU. Sometimes, Dan bugs me by calling me FU-FU - which, really, makes me sound like one of those tiny, annoying, ear-piercing loud barking poodles! So the other day, Dan emails me this:

This is from a Men's Health article...

"In the very heart of Africa, the Masai tribe is remarkable for its great height and athletic constitution (a distinctive feature in relation to other ethnic groups). Their favorite dish is cow's milk with fresh blood. "They drink it in the dry season when the scarcity of grazing pastures results in reduced milk production," explains professor Vieitez, who combines university teaching with field work on the African continent, but really, their diet is much more varied, "they eat milk derivatives such as cheese and yoghurt, "fu-fu" (a pasta made from corn), great quantities of bananas, curdled blood and urea," she says. In addition to these surprising delicacies, it is also striking that their meat consumption is very low and generally associated with ritual ceremonies".

Dan's closing comment: "SEE!!! I'm NOT calling you a dog, but instead a very healthy African dish!"

And then he sends me an email a couple days later: "Guess what? I LOVE YOU! You're as yummy as fu fu!"

Awww. :o)
