Convocation

Wow, it's been awhile since I wrote. Ok...so let's catch up:

I convocated on Friday at the Jubliee Auditorium, with a BA in Psychology. YAY! It wasn't a super exciting event, because it isn't like gr. 9 or high school grad, where you know everyone and you dress up all pretty for the occasion. Although, I did manage to buy myself some dangerously sexy stilletos.

I was actually in a grumpy mood, because my parents and I were bickering over dumb things. I think we were stressing each other out. We were already a bit late to the ceremony, and dad decides to take a longer way to get there, and we get stopped by a train. Things like that really, really annoy me. My mood went downhill from there.

Dan met up with us later at a restaurant called Characters. It is expensive dining, but we all agreed that the food was definitely the best we've all had in a long time. I was extremely impressed with the presentational style of the food.

For our 2 year anniversary, I got us tickets to an improv show called "Secret Spaces: The Bus Project", which takes place on a city bus. The bus tours around Edmonton, and we go to different historical sites and buildings, and at each site, the actors would do skits. They did skits on the bus, as well, the host, A-Channel's morning weather girl, Bridget Ryan would give us some history on some of Edmonton's oldest buildings. IT was educational and entertaining!

Bridget is hilarious! I love her personality, and Dan told me that she is just as quirky when she does the weather. Now that's waking up to a good personality!

Anyways, since they act on the bus too, whenever we stopped at red lights, other cars in traffic would look in with puzzled looks, because the actors would be running up and down the bus. At one significant moment, the male actor was dressed like Bridget Ryan, so you can imagine the odd looks the car beside the bus gave us.

We both really enjoyed the show, and I knew Dan would love it because it's original and creative. It was neat to be a tourist in your own hometown.

Ok, it's official...I am becoming housewife material. On Wednesday mornings, I am now taking sewing lessons, and I just had my first class this past Wednesday. I expected to be in a room full of old, sweet grannies, but instead, it's just myself and two other men! One guy is about my age and the other's probably around mid thirties. GO figure! It is SEW much fun! (I know, BOO on the pun! That was such a cheesy "Dan" joke).

We learned how to measure ourselves and what basic materials we will need to sew. For homework, we need to pick out a pattern that we will be making. I am thinking about making a dress.

Wednesday was also Dan's 25th birthday! After sewing lessons, I headed over to Dan's office and surprised him with chocolate-banana cupcakes that I had made for him and his colleagues. I know, aren't I so sweet?

Poor Dan, nobody at work remembered his birthday...for the second year in a row! HAHA, maybe they are just bitter that he is so much younger?! ;o) I took Dan out for lunch at Four Rooms. What a great place to eat! I had a peanut curry chicken wrap and D had blue cheese ravioli...MMmmm mmmmm!

I got D his favorite boardgame, RISK for a birthday present. He loved it because it's the new version too!

ALso, Wednesday was our two year anniversary! We will be celebrating it this Sunday (I am surprising him with a present...which I will write about later). And in July, we will be going to a Cirque de Soleil show in Calgary. YAY!
