Whoohoo! In about 15 minutes, Kelly will be here, and we will be taking off to Canmore, making a stop in Calgary to shop (of course! Could you expect anything less?) We will be staying in Canmore at the Mystic Springs Resort for the next few days. Tomorrow we will be snowboarding at Lake Louise! Can't wait!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

PS: Will update Christmas photos when I get back next year! ;o)

Ok, sorry folks for the lack of postings lately. I know you're always eager to check out what's hip and happening with mine and D's life (*wink*) - so it's time for mega-updating:

Dec. 22
Last night, Steve and Jenn hosted an intimate Christmas potluck dinner with our group of friends.

No...it wasn't a rowdy night!

...I love you too, George!

Dan and his party tie!

Me, Dan, and Jenn - cheeeeese!

We had some fun poking fun at Michelle's (swiss cheese) dip with sexual innuendo's, during dinner. L to R: Dan, Michelle (hidden), Leif, Andrea, Lindsey and Danny.

Jenn, Shawn, Suzy and Stefko enjoying the delicious potluck dishes. Notice Steve's tree is not decorated? It's one of those trees that come with the lights attached. Jenn managed to put one ball ornament at the top. That's classy!

Getting ready for the Christmas Kringle gift exchange. You can't tell in this photo, but Michelle was jumping up and down...she was really excited, and threatened anyone who would try to steal her gift away (we did the Kringle where you pick a number, and we go in order to pick presents from the pile, but the next person can steal a present from the previous person). In the end, I almost had a $15 gift certificate for Future Shop (perfect!) but evil Shawn stole it away from me! I ended up with the Chapters gift certificate I bought, but Susan traded me for her HBC gift certificate. I ended up convincing Dan to give me his gift, which was a $15 gift cert. for Future shop as well.

A group shot (there was a better one with everyone who was there, but a certain someone - I won't mention who- right, Andrew? pulled out some inappropriate parts and I'm just too lazy to edit the picture)
Dec. 19

After working a surprisingly slooooooow day at Walmart to promote Nintendo, Dan and I headed over to his sister's place for supper.

Awww, Amanda and her dad - what a cutie! She was drawing pictures of us after dinner(see below).

Amanda's drawings of: Bill (grandpa), Rosemarie (grandma), Dave (dad), Carolyn (mom), Dan and me. We love the grandpa one because he has a mo-hawk and a stylin' moustache (but Bill is really bald and clean cut). Also, the one of Carolyn is like a fire-ball, and Dave is like a four -legged animal. I'm just a fat walrus and Dan's a turnip. Awww, I just love kids drawings! They are so much fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLY!

Kelly celebrated her bday at a club called "New City Suburbs," which unbeknownst to Dan and I was a goth-like place. Some of the clientele looked like vampires. I liked the music though (house). It was definitely an interesting place, thanks Kel! Dan felt out of place because he wasn't wearing black! HAHA.

Kelly and her friend, Ian, deep in conversation. Also, I had to get a picture of the creepy ceiling design....

I look busty in this pic!

Ok...I didn't realize Dan was trying to give me a hickey...and he actually succeeded! ACK!
Dec. 15

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERESA!
What great timing, Teresa gets to celebrate her bday during an intensive (a class that is suppose to take up a semester squashed into four days). Here we are having dinner at a restaurant called Hoolihan's in Red Deer.
What a lovely waterfall - except for the fact that the water is YELLOW. That was a bit odd....

Awww, Benton and his cute wife, De

Teresa, Kyla, Natalie and Colin (nice smile, Colin! Real classy!)

Me, Meena, Christine and Linda

Classmates out celebrating (check out the huge portions of food!) Yowza!

Mmmmmmm, Teresa and I enjoying our amazing peanut-butter chocolate blizzards! I can't remember the last time I had one! This is definitely a dessert of choice for my "free-target" days!

"Colin's Angels": Teresa, Roz, Natalie, and Kyla. Doesn't this look like a cheesy "hang-out after school at DQ" ad?
Dec. 13

Kam invited me over to his parents' pad to relax in their steam room of the newly renovated basement turned spa. What a great way to end a day of an intense day at school!

Doesn't this look like paradise?! I really like the glass walls.

This is an inversion-table. I've never seen one before, but what it does is it stretches out your spine and helps with a bad back. You control the speed and movement of the table with your arms. Pretty neat stuff. Here I go...

Half-way there...

I'm upside-down! Whoa! Head rush!

Ahhhh....the massage table...and look! There's even TV entertainment!

The tanning bed...look the room even has (fake) palm trees!!! Great props! Of course I took advantage of this bed too....

Entrance to the steam room...ahhhhhh soooo relaxing! Kam and I spent almost 45 minutes in there! Talk about a great stress reliever!
Dec 12 (midnight of Dec. 11)

After Dan's company Christmas party, we met up with some friends. Jenelle's brother, Sheldon and his girlfriend were up visiting from Calgary, so we went bar hopping down Whyte Ave. It was a fun night!

Lon doing his "Ork Song" in front of Army and Navy entrance - only those that know of this Ork song can really appreciate Lon's talent

Next place we headed to was The Billiard Club. Here's a view from the top looking out to the streets of Whyte Ave.

Me, Jenelle's brother's girlfriend, and Jenelle

Mark watches his shot

Jenelle gets ready to sink a ball

Dan's shot

Jenelle's brother really wanted to go to "Crowbar" - a heavy metal bar that I didn't even know existed on Whyte Ave. Hmmm, interesting mural eh? We totally felt out of place in this sketchy looking bar.

Trevor, Mark, Joe and Dan - aww what a nice quartet
December 11

Dan and I at his company's Christmas party at the Royal Glenora Club.

Striking a pose in front of an old school phone booth. Dan and I ate soooo much food, so we took a tour around the Royal Glenora Club. It's pretty nice...and big!

Some of Aon's finest dancers busting out on the dance floor to oldies...the lady on the right just looks like she's having the time of her life!

Life is good!

Warning: this post is going to be all about me, me, me! Oh, wait...they always are...but this one's more self-indulging than usual...but for good reasons! (You're not obligated to read this though, but I would greatly appreciate you that much more, as I spent a good 10 minutes on it!) ;o)

The lack of posting can be explained: I've been busy studying for a major exam (worth 60%), which I wrote on Tuesday, Nov. 30. The exam was actually alot easier than I expected (but I'm sure that was probably because I studied my ass off), except that was one section where the whole class all thought was brutal. Not sure how well that section went....

Tuesday was also my dad's birthday! What perfect timing to go out to celebrate and eat, big, yummy, juicy ribs at Tony Roma's with my family and Dan. It was a "free target" day for me (I'm in week 4 of the Kinetix eating plan!). I've learned to really appreciate food alot more (i.e., I don't stuff my face, and foods I eat on "free target" days taste so much better than when I ate them whenever I wanted to).

Other good news: I received a couple marks back from a previous course I took, and received an A+ on my oral presentation. In addition, I received a paper back from the same course, in which I researched about Interracial Marriages. My professor was so impressed, that she wants to have it published...for the University's newsletter. It's not an academic periodical, but it's a start, right?! Also, my friend Meena and I had a small presentation that same day (in which we put together in the 2.5 hours time we had between the end of the exam to the beginning of our next class). We received an A+, and one classmate even mentioned I should be an actress (she just thinks I'm so funny...really...I don't know why?!).

As I mentioned above, I am in week 4 of the Kinetix Program, and following the advance training workout. My goal is to lose fat, tone up. Several people have commented on my torso becoming more trim, and I notice that my arms are getting more lean, and the baby love handles are slowly going... YAY! I can't wait to see more results in another four weeks! :oD

I got a shagadelic haircut, and Dan, who's never done any sort of hair coloring on anyone else before, bravely (or am I the brave one!?) volunteered to highlight my hair a bold, red color. Good job, Dan! He was getting the technique down pretty good after awhile! (We started with the very bottom layers, so he could get practice!)
