Today's Chinese New Year! it's the year of the DOG.
This morning, Dan and I saw a city bus all decked out with red and gold balloons on both sides, and there was a dragon head just below the windshield and a tail at the end of the bus. It was so cute!!!! To celebrate the new year, my mom made a nice Chinese dinner to celebrate and of course, we got lucky money! I love being Chinese! hehe ;o)
I got the above photo from my favorite website, Pink is the New Blog.

We had a girls night out on Saturday, and Michelle came up with the brillient idea to go rollerskating- old school stylez!!! It was awesome, I've never gone before. The rollerrink was filled with teeny bops but it was so much fun- it was like being back in highschool dances again!

Michelle and I got all decked out as 70's rollerchicks just for the fun of it! I know, we're such dorks! Gotta love us!

Susan, Miche and I...rollerchicks!

Ouch! I had a few wipeouts (three to be exact!) - so here I am icing it...and here's Suzy's cat watching me...

On Sunday, Byron (standing) had a good-bye BBQ because he was leaving for Afghanistan for at least 6 months to serve for our country. Good luck Byron, please stay safe!!!

Last week it was Dan's sister, Carolyn's (dare I say it!? Oooh, I will...Carolyn, don't kill me!!) 34th birthday! It was so cute, Amanda had made a cake all by herself (while Daddy went for a quick shower, and Mommy went for a massage) with the following ingredients: ice cream, LOTS of honey (most of which went on the floor), cinnamon, and raw eggs. When Dave came out of the shower, he was shocked to see all the honey on the floor! CUTE!

1-2-3- BLOW!

Yay! All out- time to eat!

All the best to you in 2006! Thanks for visiting our blog, and we hope you enjoy looking at our pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them. Your fave photo junkies, Roz and Dan.

NEW YEAR'S EVE : The Plan: 3 house parties to attend. All house parties within the same neighbourhood (by coincidence!). Dan and I headed to Jen's (this girl I met on the plane ride to Vancouver -keep reading further posts for details). This crowd was into boardgames (they were all 24ish and married, and some had kids already). It was fun. I learned how to play SPEED SCRABBLE! SO MUCH FUN! Here I am with some new acquaintances.

It was an intense game alright!!!! Team Roz and Amber beat Team Krista and Jen in the final 3rd round. We did pretty awesome. The 2nd round, Team Krista and Jen were up 8-2, but we caught up and tied them at 9 all but then they ended up scoring the final pt! DAMN!

Around 9, Dan and I headed over to our second destination for the night: Jenn and Steve's house party. Here's me, Jax, Jenn, Susan, Suzy and Mark

Aww Clayton and Jackie

Smooth Daniel...Celery in the eye!

Awww Mark and Rob...you guys just are so touchy feely!

3..2...1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY 2006!

In his drunken state, Dan decided to take pictures of the New Year's Kisses!

We headed over to Ajid and Vanessa's party for a bit. Here are some of my friends I met in karate class (L-R): Ajid, Vanessa, Brianne, and Wes

DEC 28 : Dan and I got back into E-town at noon. After my mom picked us up from the airport, Dan and I went for lunch at Tokyo Express, where Dan had an unexpected high school friends reunion. Here are some old school chums, Richmond, Irene (who was on the TV show POPSTARS, btw!), and Rhea. It was really nice to meet Rich and Irene, and good to see Rhea again for me.

My neighbours (and Quang's cousins), Bick and Shane (here with their BEAUTIFUL doll- I mean daughter, Hannah), invited D and I over for a post-xmas dinner. It was great, I got to practice my Cantonese via convo with Quang's parents (who do not speak English much), eat lots of food, and play a game of scrabble. Damn! Shane is the Scrabble King I must say!!!

Stefanie, Quang, moi and D

Dec 27 : Dan's parents (Bill and Rose Marie) and us went to Bill's older brother's, Lou, and his wife, Pat's home in West Van (richest area in Van). It was nice to finally meet Pat and Lou as I have heard a lot about them. We had lunch there. Here, Bill is opening up a gift from Pat and Lou. They are such a young spirited couple, you would never know that they are in their 80's!!!!!

This is the view from Uncle Lou and Aunt Pat's house!!!! Obviously, my camera does not do justice!!! But here is a view of the ocean from a beautiful West Vancouver house!

Wade showed Dan and I around Vancouver. He brought us to a make-out point (haha) that oversees every beautiful part of Vancouver. Here's Wade and Dan in front of the ocean, where you can see the 14 million dollar houses (ok, not in this photo) across from it. Just unreal!

Thanks Wade, you make a great tour guide!!!!! Vancouver is amazing- especially at night! Sorry, my camera just does not capture the beauty of Vancouver lights at night.

So for dinner, Mary, Dan, Wade and I went to Cactus Club Cafe (we don't have this in Edmonton). And since I'm such a photo junkie, I had to take a picture of their fancy washrooms, because I WAS THAT IMPRESSED. They have a toilet that EVERY public bathroom should have...since I know all women flush public toilets with their feet anyways. Here, on the floor, you're looking at THE FLUSHER - how SWEET is that? And to boot, they have an automatic sanitizer for the toilet seat. I'm loving it!!!!

Mary and her Chicken Kung Pao! SPICY!!!

Wade and his fajita - mmm!

Dan's curry filet

Mmmmmm my Westcoast Pockets (Sushi wrapped in tofu) and shashimi dinner

Dan getting cozy on Wade's couch. Thanks Wade (and Sheilagh) for letting us crash at your place!

I LOOOOOOVE BUGGING DAN!!!!! Here he is trying to sleep!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! : Dan and I slept in, had some breaky, then opened presents with his parents. Then D and I went for a run by the beach and around the local area. Since the pace on Qualicum is very slow and relaxed, we did a whole lot of nothing...it was GREAT!!!!!!

here's Dan and his mom taking out the dinner turkey.

YUM! Christmas dinner, where I stuffed myself to no end! Anyways, it was a great meal...we're about to say grace here (funny that Dan and his dad look a bit too serious!)

DEC 23 and 24 : Dan and I left Friday morning to go to his parents' home on Vancouver Island (Qualicum Beach). Here we are dining at a restaurant where you can see the habour.

DEC 22 : The plan was for us to go snowboarding today, but it was rainy ALL day, so it wouldn't have been great conditions. We were bummed out, but we ended up doing the second best thing in Whistler - SHOPPING!!!!

Whistler is so cute!

Dan and I had to kill some time before the bar that we were going to would open. We're definitely buzzing in this photo!

Taking a stroll...

Beautiful streets of Whistler

Dan's artistic photography

Dan had to take a picture of this garbage can in the men's bathroom (in Whistler). WTF!? Why is there a lock on the garbage can!?

In the evening, Dan and I did some pre-drinking at our hostel and walked over to a local hotspot called Garfinkel's. It was so much fun!!!!! Definitely recommend going there for dancing and drinks!

Dan and I had a great time...dancing and drinking the night away!
