The Life of a Busy Bee

*Sigh*

Time is the one thing that will never stop...and I wish that it would, because there are so many things I want to do, but am too busy to fit into my jam-packed schedule. Here's a list of things I want to do, but haven't got alot of time for:

*Baking/cooking new recipes
*Sewing (as in learning to make new clothes)
*Updating this blog with more photos

What are some things you want to accomplish or do, but aren't able to for some reason?

Lately, my soccer team has been falling apart. In the last two weeks, we've already had to forfeit two games (we play twice a week) due to lack of players. That's really frustrating! Anyways, tonight, we scrambled as many players as possible (we even went to the desperate measures of getting girls who don't even regularly play with us) and ended up with just enough players...lucky number 7. (Ok, so not really that lucky when it comes to being a team).

Fortunately, the other team only had 10 players, so they were short as well. We were expecting to get demolished, especially after the first half of the game, when the score was 5-0 (for them, of course!)

However, (I have to brag here now!) in the second half of the game, we made a comeback...and I managed to score a hatrick (with alot of sprinting and ball control involved). Each goal I made from extreme angles from the far left side of the field. They totally didn't look like they would go in, because they were sneaky shots.

The final score was 6-4 (for them), proving that we could have totally kicked butt if we had a FULL team who could commit. Anyway, I sort of like playing short sometimes because then I get more cardio workout time in. ;o)

Sunday, July 18: After a night of drinking, Dan and I took off the next morning to Canmore's Lady McDonald Trail Mountain, in which we only hiked up about half way, the last time we hiked there with Kelly, Kristy, and Jason. We finished it this time, and it was like climbing up stairs for four hours! It took us about two hours to get back down.
PS: Kelly, Jason, and Kristy - the view is amazing from up there!

July 17, Dan and I went to Calgary to spend the day at the Stampede, which in our opinion, wasn't as great as the hype made it out to be. Then we went to see Cirque de Soleil, which was just as great, if not more, than the hype had made it out to be. Afterwards, we went and partied on 17th Street with my Calgary bud, Cory and his friends.

Yee-Haw! Spending early afternoon at the Calgary Stampede.

Trying on these awesome masks at Cirque de Soleil during intermission. What an amazing show it was! Definitely a must see! Absolutely incredible talent!

Hey Folks! Thanks for your patience! I have started my photoblog. The photos date back to events as late as June, since that was pretty much the last time I posted anything. The events include mine and Dan's trip to Vancouver and Qualicum Beach, my sewing class, and Quang's birthday. Let me know if this is taking too long to download, and I may change the format a bit. There is more to come, like the Calgary trip Dan and I went on just this last weekend. Stay tuned!!!

JULY 1 Here we are in Vancouver, taking the bus to our hostel!

Here's Dan and I waiting for the SkyTrain - how can you tell we're tourists?! (I.e., who takes pictures in a subway!?) I don't care, the Skytrain is a cool idea.

We ate at this fantastic Thai House Restaurant. It was hard to find, seeing that the entrance was in an underground parkade. How odd is that? It seemed sketchy at first, but inside, the place was quite nice and the food was more than fabulous.

The narrow hallway of Cambie- Hostel in Vancouver downtown...small, crammed, humid and noisy. Ahhh, what more could we ask for? At least they had these free, huge, yummy muffins for breakfast!

Drinking in our hostel after purchasing "beer to go" from a pub a couple blocks down.

Walking in downtown Vancouver...obviously, I was a bit intoxicated.

The sails at BC Place. We were told that the fireworks were cancelled due to the sails' potential of catching on fire. Which really doesn't make sense, since the ocean is right beside it.

This is at at restaurant that Dan's parents took us to when we got to Qualicum Beach. Isn't that fish tank amazing? Dan's 2 year old niece loved it!

Aww! Dan reading a bedtime story to his 2 year old niece, Amanda.

I love this pic, taken by Dan in his parent's backyard.

Here we are on Qualicum Beach. What are these men digging for? You'll see in the next photo....

This is a GOOEY-DUCK! Doesn't it look like a certain body part?! What it does is bury itself deep in the sand, while leaving a hole, and squirts water from the "shaft" as it's defense when someone walks by the hole. Interesting...

Mini-golf course in Qualicum Beach. There's Caroline (Dad's sis) in the corner. She kicked all our butts!

Bill (Dan's dad) couldn't quite get his head through the hole

Going back to good ol' E-town. Amanda's first plane ride back to Edmonton...look how happy she is! Awww, how adorable!
This is my sewing class that I took every Wednesday morning in June. From left, Jerry, my instructor Colleen, and Ryan. We had such a blast! Who knew that cool guys were interested in sewing?! Thanks Ry and Jerry for making my first sewing class so much fun!!!! Here we are showing off the shirts we made!

This a serger...look how HARDCORE it is! I don't like it because it makes me nervous, ever since it shredded a bit of the material on my shirt. (Notice the white flower patch I covered it with in the above picture).

June 26 Celebrating Quang's "quarter century" birthday at The Druid. This is him before the tequilla shots....

Michelle and Kelly giving Dan a hand to light up the cigar, which was impossible! Then we realized you had to bite the end off first! Whoops!

Tequilla Shots!!! I love our facial expressions!

Q after a few drinks...not feeling so good

Q, it's HOMETIME! I like how his friend is feeding him gatorade as Q looks happy as a baby.

Just a quick note to let you guys know I'm still alive...I know I haven't updated in a while. I recently purchased a lovely, new digital camera, and have pictures galore. My goal is to turn this blog into less talk, and more pix, hence, a photoblog! I'm still in the process of figuring things out...so please check back in about a week or so to view a bigger and better site! Thanks!
