OUR WEDDING DAY

So finally the photos that many of you have been waiting for! I apologize for the delay. Life has been really busy with all the crazy transitions. Dan and I are just over a month of being very happily married (ahh...marital bliss is a wonderful thing!), and Dan has moved in with me and my parents (so it's like a real Asian family, with two generations in one home! HAHA!). Our condo downtown is still being built (it was suppose to be done by July!!!!), so we decided to save some moola and live with my parents until we move in - which will probably be in December, after our month-long honeymoon to Thailand and Hong Kong.

Right now, I'm in the process of waiting to be approved for Provisional Psychologist status, and busy planning ways on marketing myself to generate clients for my private practice at the Lousage Institute, which I recently got!!! I'm also in the process of finding employment on the side, either with another counselling agency, or some contract work. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be going as well as I hoped it to be, as many companies are not hiring, or require further experience. That is the downfall of being young and highly educated - I don't have enough experience because of time! Boo! So I am taking referrals for my private practice ;o)

Well, enough about my career life...now on to the wedding!!! The following photos are taken by my Uncle John and my good friend Ama (thank you very much to the both of you!). Our professional wedding photos, taken by Kam, haven't been posted yet, but you can view some here on Kam's site. Love his work!!! Keep checking back, as I will post some professional favourites in the near future!

A special thank-you goes out to all those that shared our special day with us, and especially a big thanks to those who have helped us plan and/or provide services to make our day as amazing as it was. It was absolutely beyond our expectations.

The highlight of our wedding were the beautiful and extremely thoughtful and funny speeches, made by our MC's - George (best man) and Michelle (maid of honor), and Rose Marie (Dan's mom). Also the toast to the bridesmaid speech made by Sean and Lon (groomsmen) was quite funny - literally tag teaming each other line by line!!! All of these speeches captured everyone's eyes and ears! An especially unforgettable speech was said by my dad. The ultimate unforgettable line was, "Roz came from a broken home... (long pause as everyone reacts in shock)...we had a hole in our deck for over a decade... (Everyone laughs)...Dan came and fixed that hole". It was so cute, with the right touch of emotion and humor mixed together.

The other highlights of the evening was my dress - (something I designed myself!!) and the Lion Dance performers. There was non-stop entertainment, as people continuously came up to the mic to tell stories (embarrassing, funny, or touching) about Dan and/or I. Each story would then be followed by Dan and I kissing (we didn't want the annoying tapping of the glasses).

Cheyenne, my friend and DJ, provided wonderful music throughout the reception. This is a guy who went away for a month, and literally came back one day before the wedding, and stayed up late to make sure he had great music prepared for the wedding. Now, that's dedication and a whole lot of heart there! Thanks Cheyenne!!!

Also, our friend Adam, compiled a bunch of photos of Dan and I from over the 4.5 years we've been together, and played it as a slideshow. Although the photos were embarassing and/or crazy ones, we were really touched by the effort and time he had put into it. Thanks Adam!!! And a big sarcastic thanks to those who gave Adam those super embarassing photos! *wink*

Also, another highlight worth mentioning was mine and Dan's first dance, because Keith sang our song, "Feels like Home" live, while his brother, Kevin, played the guitar. They were originally going to sing it at the church ceremony, but because of restrictions, we decided to have them sing it as our first dance- which worked out so well! A big thanks to Keith and Kevin for all your dedication in learning this song for us!

Dan and I know that we are truly lucky to have friends and family like you all. Above all else, our wedding was a true reflection of who we are as individuals, and also as a couple, through looking at the friends and family that we have. We couldn't be more blessed. Thank you.

A special thank you to our parents, Charles and Jennifer, and Bill and Rose Marie for all your love, kindness and support. It's been a wonderful journey thus far, as it will continue to be. Cheers! XOXO

We took pictures at The Legislature Building, located in downtown Edmonton. This is one of my faves taken by my Uncle John.
